Chief Greg Fugitt started his law enforcement career in 1996 as a Lawrence County deputy sheriff before coming to the Louisa Police Department in 2002, he was promoted to chief of police in 2011. Chief Fugitt graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training Center where he received an award for defensive tactics.

Fugitt also graduated from the Academy of Police Supervision in 2010.

Sergeant Ed Cordle started his law enforcement career in 1990 as a Lawrence County deputy sheriff before coming to the Louisa Police Department in 1994. Sgt. Cordle graduated from Department of Criminal Justice Training Center in 199. Cordle is a certified School Resource Officer and the departments’ firearms instructor. 

Sergeant Steven Wilburn began his law enforcement career for the Louisa Police Department in 2008.

Sgt. Wilburn graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Center in 2009. Wilburn since has been promoted to Field Training Officer for the police department and responsible for the in house training.

Sgt. Wilburn is also an A.L.I.C.E. “Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evaluate” certified instructor and certified in A.R.I.D.E. “Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement” .

Patrolman Hunter James started began his career in 2013 with the Louisa Police Department. Ptl. James graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Center in 2014 where he received the “Coordinators Award” for his outstanding performance and ideal attitude throughout the academy. He also received the “Outstanding Performance Award for Physical Fitness”. Ptl. James is also A.R.I.D.E. “Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement” certified.

Patrolman Julius Musick started his law enforcement career in 2013 with the Louisa Police Department. Ptl. Musick graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Center in 2014. Ptl. Musick is also A.R.I.D.E. “Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement” certified.
